At ManTech International Corporation, you'll help protect our national security while working on innovative projects that offer opportunities for advancement.Currently, ManTech is seeking a full-time Launch Site Mission Assurance Engineer join our team near Vandenberg AFB, CA.Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Perform mission assurance and fleet surveillance duties in accordance with SLD 30's Mission Assurance and Launch Verification processes.Assess the Launch Service Provider's (LSP) launch vehicle checkout and processing activities at the launch sites.Monitor and assess configuration changes at applicable space launch complexes, as compared to the approved certification configuration baseline, and make recommendations to the USG.Perform supporting functions to the launch site responsible engineer including assessing requirements, evaluating past procedures and documentation for current applicability, attending required meetings, assessing process verification, and developing independent risk assessments.Provide USG representatives with recommendations for required Launch Verification Database (LVDB) updates, item closure and risk assessment functions, and applicable lessons learned.Monitor and assess configuration changes to the SLCs operated by NSSL LSPs as compared to the approved certification configuration baseline and make recommendations to the USG.Maintain and update launch site mission assurance documents such as operating instructions, plans, and CONOPS.Review Launch and Range related AF guidance documents for technical validity and make recommendations for revisions to 30 OG documents.Assess the execution of the 30 OG Launch Verification Processes and its consistency with overall NSSL Space Flight Worthiness Certification and Readiness Review processes and make recommendations for improvement.Provide technical recommendations for and provide summary documentation of NSSL system Technical Interchange Meetings (TIMs)/TEMs/Reviews.Capture and document best practices and provide training and certification support as directed.Provide integrated assessments of LSP and DoD processes and media as requested to aid USG evaluation of cost, schedule, and performance risks and opportunities.Capture existing 30 OG processes, recommend enhancements, and collaborate as required to implement approved changes.Basic Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering or Bachelor's Degree in STEM field10 years as systems engineer, technical PM, or other related areas with at least 5 years of NSSL, Launch/Range, DoD, or NASA engineering experienceExperience working with and/or leading multi-disciplined teams.US Citizenship required.Preferred Qualifications:Master's or PhD Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or STEM field.Experience in one or more of the following launch vehicle system areas: 1) Guidance, navigation, and control systems, 2) Rocket engine propulsion, 3) Turbine machinery, 4) Communications systems, digital communication protocols, and signal distribution and processing, 5) Electrical power distribution, electrical interfaces, and electrical ground support equipment, 6) Avionics electronics and instrumentation, 7) Structural design and analysis, and 8) Launch engineering and operations.Previous familiarization and experience with software platforms such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), Slack, Jira and Confluence is a plus.Prior military or launch vehicle systems experience.Excellent communication skills and previous experience working at Space & Missile Systems Center (SMC, now SSC) or other USG agencies, is preferred; experience briefing to Executive leadership is desirable.Security Clearance Requirements:Must have a Secret ClearancePhysical Requirements:Must be able to remain in a stationary position for 50% of the time.For all positions requiring access to technology/software source code that is subject to export control laws, employment with the company is contingent on either verifying U.S.-person status or obtaining any necessary license.
