Boeing Global Services (BGS) is seeking a SeniorProduct Repair/Mod
Tech to support the Ground-Based Midcourse Defense (GMD) Program.
This position is located at Vandenberg Space Force Base (SFB),
California (-50 miles north of Santa Barbara).
- Leads the assembly, disassembly and modification of systems by
overseeing the change, removal, replacement or upgrade of aerospace
vehicle components to correct failures or implement changes.
- Oversees assembly, disassembly or overhaul.
- Configures aerospace vehicles and bench test equipment. Directs
troubleshooting of complex pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical
systems to isolate mechanical or electrical faults and repair
- Oversees validation/verification testing of systems and
- Documents procedures and established processes to ensure
contractual and regulatory compliance (e.g., repairs, test results,
applicable modifications and inspection results).
- Inspects components and verifies repairs for flight worthiness
- Leads and supervises others to perform tasks associated with
the safe handling of an aerospace vehicle (e.g. jacking, towing,
system operations). Provides training and mentors others.
- Works under minimal direction.
- May include post work hour shifts sparingly.
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate
will be required to work onsite at Vandenberg SFB, California.
This position requires an active U.S. Secret Security Clearance
(U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has
been active in the past 24 months is considered active)
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- Minimum of 3 years of experience with Missile Defense and/or
major weapon systems operations & maintenance
- Minimum of 3 years of experiencewith mechanical
troubleshooting, disassembly and repair
- Must be able to ascend and descend vertical work ladders, work
in confined spaces, and lift loads approximately 35 pounds.
- Must be able to travel domestically.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- Abilityto operate a Forklift,truck mounted crane,and other
associated equipmenta plus
- Experience working with ordnance/rocket motors is highly
- Required to support Boeing Team at other locations and be
available for off-site training.
Typical Education/ Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through basic education
(e.g. High School diploma/GED) and typically 4 or more years'
related work experience or an equivalent combination of education
and experience (e.g. vocational school/Associate+2 years' related
work, Bachelor, etc.)
This position is located in a location that does not offer
relocation. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate
at their own expense.

Summary pay range: $75,650 - $102,350
