Job Description:

Peraton is seeking a driven Junior Communication Specialist to support the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) operations, maintenance, and sustainment activities, associated with the Eastern/Western Range Operational Communications Services (EWOCS) Contract at Vandenberg Space Force Base (VSFB). EWOCS provides comprehensive suite of IT services and physical asset maintenance for customers at the Eastern and Western Ranges and outlying stations in support of garrison and mission operations. - -The Communications Specialist will be responsible for the following. Other duties may be assigned:Provide technical advice and guidance on installation, adaptation, configuration or enhancement of EWOCS MDA technical products, programs.Perform Tier I problem resolution on the telephone with users, walks the user through a series of steps to determine problem and classify level, priority and nature of the problems and systems. Provide expertise for the resolution of technical problems, troubleshoots products and modifies products to customer requirements.Review system and configurations to ensure successful implementation of services into production. Maintain system stability through advanced analytical techniques, timely resolution of incidents, and proactive maintenance to provide the maximum availability and optimal Mean Time to Repair. Partner with developers and engineers to reduce reoccurring incidents. Provide consultative assistance during off hours as needed. Assist in developing continuous process improvement for support tools, troubleshooting techniques. Collaborate and assist R in the testing and optimization of product support techniques and tools. Communicate to appropriate internal personnel of issues at a particular account.Determine the effectiveness of known solutions for the reported problem and apply these solutions as required.Determine severity and complexity of a reported issue and if necessary, escalate to the appropriate specialist.Determine the troubleshooting workflow and organize support priorities. Provide technical and operational support for networking, communications, video, telemetry, alarm, and control equipment and systems.Test and troubleshoot MDA communications, video, telemetry, alarm, and control systems.Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities for all MDA communications systems.Provide support to Network Engineers in implementation and configuration of systems.Create and review MDA communication system diagrams and participate in site surveys.Provide training to customers.

-Required qualifications:High School Diploma/GED and zero (0+) to one year of communications related technical services experience -Experience with installation, testing and troubleshooting inside and outside plant cabling.Possesses a wide range of in-depth skills and knowledge in computer hardware and software as well as networking systems in use at customer sites.Must have the ability to obtain a SECRET security clearance. In order to obtain a security clearance, you must be a U.S. Citizen. -Must not have a fear of heights or enclosed spaces as we maintain camera system that are at or above 45 feet and work in sub floor compartments.Desired Qualifications: Knowledge or experience with Vandenberg Space Force Base (VSFB) and/or Missile Defense Agency (MDA) systems.Active DoD 8570.01-M Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level II certification (Security+, SSCP, GSEC, CCNA Security, GICSP).Self-driven and results oriented, capable of effectively working multiples tasks.Strong verbal and written communications skills, including proficiency with MS Office Suite

Salary Range:
Salary Minimum: $22,500
Salary Mid: $45,000
Salary Maximum: $56,300
