Providence is calling a Radiology Services Representative (On-Call/Day Shift) to Providence Facey Medical Foundation in Mission Hills, CA Please upload a current resume reflecting all professional nursing experience. We are seeking a Radiology Services Representative who will provide Radiology-based applications support to Radiologists, Radiology staff, users of the PACS, Powerscribe and MRS applications. Responsible for representing radiology services through Radiology based applications, answering, triaging and logging of Radiology support calls, providing immediate assistance where possible. Ability to identify reoccurring errors. Ability to work effectively with staff, providers, management and to include external customers in determining the most effective and efficient means of troubleshooting and resolving user errors. In this position you will: Deliver upon the service expectations of both our patients and fellow staff members by listening to their needs; engaging in positive interactions; and following through on promises made in a thoughtful, efficient, timely and courteous manner so that their total outcome is better than expected Respect the dignity, confidentiality and privacy of patients Work in a safe manner, adhering to general safety precautions and standards Report any unsafe conditions to their supervisor and/or the safety hotline Be the first point of contact for all types of radiology requests including adding tests, deleting tests, changing order type (STAT), determining appropriate test code to order, prepare and submit comparison requests, submit report corrections to radiologists and ensure completion, determining problems in results placed in TW, Powerscribe, Synapse and MRS Be able to assess user issues appropriately assigned to PACS administrator, Radiology supervisor or IT support Document procedures related to Helpdesk process flows, policies and procedures Work with PACS Admin, Radiologists, Radiology Staff, Receptionist Staff, Nursing staff and Providers to insure quality and timeliness of resolution of issues Maintain the Support Access database used for logging user issues Field all correspondence from outside providers, internal providers, and patients as related to film requests Be able to assess appropriate type of imaging/duplicating requested Digitize or import these images in a timely manner and ensure that the request is followed through to completion and to the satisfaction of the requester Change status of comparison studies to ensure addendum report from the Radiologist is completed Schedule patients per Radiology protocol. Ensure that all pending appointments with existing Radiology jackets are prepared prior to exam time Generate appropriate labels and ensure that they are distributed to the corresponding technical staff Hang all hard-copy mammograms on the alternator as requested and per the standards of the interpreting Radiologist. After reading is complete, remove and place in x-ray jacket (internal images) or mailer (external images); return images to the appropriate location Work directly with the requests generated from legal subpoenas; ensure that all data requested is supplied in a timely, confidential and professional manner Research and follow up with all prior studies stored in Iron Mountain. This includes requesting, tracking, ordering and returning of prior studies deemed necessary by the interpreting Radiologist or provider Assist all radiology departments with scheduling conflicts and concerns to completion and satisfaction Participate in the departmental Help Desk procedures to insure that appropriate written or oral communications with the users are maintained Adhere to departmental status reporting, objective setting and planning processes Provide administrative functions and clerical tasks as needed Provide correct billing information as needed to DP Corrections Perform other Radiology support as required Perform QA to ensure that all procedures are completed with a signed report Required qualifications for this position includes: Knowledge of medical and radiology terminology Knows proper radiology protocols and policies Demonstrate experience in systems and documentation Excellent customer service and communication skills, both oral and written Able to work independently with little supervision or as a member of a team and with other staff Preferred qualifications for this position includes: Two (2) years of experience in a medical setting or equivalent education One (1) year of Radiology and/or Help Desk experience Working knowledge of Windows, Microsoft Word and Excel, and Allscripts, IDX, MRS, Synapse and Powerscribe Knowledge of billing and insurance components for radiology procedures strongly About the hospital you will serve.
